BrainPOP Social Media

Instagram Content Curation

While working for BrainPOP, Konstantin managed their social media accounts, and one of his primary tasks involved content creation and curation for their Instagram page, which had been largely unused up until that point. Konstantin build their brand and presence on Instagram by creating images, clips and stories from BrainPOP’s existing video content, creating original artwork, and producing photography, all primarily featuring BrainPOP’s mascot Moby the Robot. Konstantin additionally wrote pun-filled tweets, generated community engagement through comments sections, and strategized marketing campaigns to help grow BrainPOP’s various social media feeds and develop a fun, playful presence that reflected the companies existing content. During Konstantin’s tenure running BrainPOP’s instagram, their feed was well populated with a variety of engaging visual elements that helped grow the account from under 2 thousand to over 10 thousand followers.

Meme Campaign

One campaign that was short lived, but very well received by BrainPOP’s audience was the recreation of popular memes, featuring Moby the Robot in place of the usual subjects. Meme cultur is inexorably woven into the internet community, and Konstantin leaned into this by creating images that could tap into that appeal while still remaining true to BrainPOP’s kid-friendly and lighthearted brand persona. The Instagram posts produced ended up being some of the most highly engaged with posts on the entire page up to that point.

Moby Photoshop Campaign

Having skill sets in both illustration and Adobe Photoshop, placing Moby into existing images became a go-to type of content that Konstantin produced for BrainPOP. These images usually centered around topical moments in pop-culture, such as the release of a new film, a holiday, or anniversary’s of historical figures. Creating these pieces was always a slightly different challenge each time, but usually involved having to create a custom or stylized illustration of Moby to edit into the image in question. By generating posts that were related to topical or trending subjects, Konstantin was able to build out a social media feed that felt active, fresh, and engaged with its audience.

Tiny Moby Photography Campaign

One of the longest ongoing campaigns Konstantin ran for BrainPOP’s Instagram was the Tiny Moby series. BrainPOP had produced bobble heads of its mascot, Moby the Robot, and Konstantin saw an opportunity to create a photography series starring “Tiny Moby”, as he went on to be called. These photos often played upon the Tiny Moby’s small stature in a big world, and utilized crafted props and costumes on the bobble head to celebrate holidays, show off travel locations, or simply create amusing photo ops. These photos created a fun alternative to the usual digital media present in BrainPOP’s social media feeds, and also served as a simple way to generate a wide range of regular content.
